To state the obvious, the number one reason that parents send their child to daycare is because of their work schedule.  Parents need a reliable place for their children to go when they are not around, and a daycare center can provide that and much more.

A daycare center is a wonderful place for children to shine, and it will help accelerate their intellectual and social development.  In fact, there are plenty of non-working parents who choose to send their child to daycare because it provides their son or daughter with a rewarding learning experience.  Today, we wanted to look at some of the secondary benefits of daycare, things that you may not have considered when thinking about sending your child to a daycare center.

1) Sending your child to a daycare center can augment their socialization process, as they will learn to cope without being around their parents or guardians all the time, and they will learn to be social with others in their peer group.  Additionally, they will learn the discipline and attentiveness needed to be successful in a school like atmosphere, and they can develop their independence under the watchful eye of trained professionals.

2) Children will have the opportunity to experience new things and meet others from all walks of life, which in turn will broaden their world views and augment their sense of culture.

3) Daycare centers will improve a child’s nutritional intake.  It can often be a struggle for parents to get their youngsters to sit down and eat a nutritional meal at a certain time during the day.  However, since children at daycare are on more of a set schedule, and since they will work up a hunger from playing and being active, it will increase the likelihood they that eat more food, and they will eat it on a set schedule, which is better for the body than just waiting to eat when you are hungry.

4) Children that attend daycare will be better prepared to attend real school.  For example, some of the programs offered at Watch Me Grow Daycare Center include Spanish lessons and computer training, which will surely come in handy when it’s time for kids to learn those materials in their regular school.
