What We Are Doing in Anticipation of Christmas

DaycareWatch Me Grow Daycare Center certainly loves celebrating the holiday season. Christmastime is a festive time of year for both the adults and the kids at Watch Me Grow.

Right after Thanksgiving, the kids got their start “decking the halls.” Well, not only the halls, but the classrooms, too. Besides making hand-made artistic Christmas decorations to hang on the walls of the center, kids also made their own ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree. Projects have also been on-going to make gifts for Mom and Dad. Meanwhile, it has been a time of learning and singing Christmas carols– “fa la la la la, la la la la!”

Keeping it fun, did you know we have an “Elf on the Shelf” watching over the kids everyday at the center this time of year? Children absolutely love to find the “Elf on the Shelf” who seems to pop up in a new and interesting place each day as Christmas gets closer.

Another fun thing our children have enjoyed in preparation for Santa’s big day? Writing letters to Santa Claus!

Toward the middle of the month of December, the center keeps things interesting with a Christmas pajama party, a Christmas cut-out cookie extravaganza, and a Christmas carol sing-a-long time. It’s no wonder, then, that the song proclaims “It’s the most wonderful time of the year,” because it surely is.

Before December 25th, when the children will be home, there’s the Watch Me Grow Holiday Party. It’s a special time when children and their parents or guardians engage in fun activities together at the center. There’s a visit from Santa, gift exchanges, and even an old-fashioned sing-a-long– good times, for sure.

Finally, to ring in the new year properly, the children get to parade around the center with musical instruments and homemade new year hats.

December is most certainly a joyous time at Watch Me Grow Daycare Center.
